The 2026 Republican Primary Is Set — Bring Your Sample Ballot

Early voting is February 17 though February 27.

Election Day is March 3, 2026.

If you live in Texas House District 5, use these 2026 sample ballots to review the contested countywide and state races before Election Day.

These ballots include positions that apply countywide and higher across Camp, Rains, Smith, Titus, Upshur, and Wood Counties. Being informed before you vote ensures you are prepared and confident at the ballot box.

You can take paper with you into the voting booth — you just cannot use your phone. Every sample ballot clearly notes that it is not an official ballot and is provided for voter education only.

Texas House District 5

On every county ballot in HD-5, you will see:

  • LTC Dewey Collier (Ret)

  • Cole Hefner (incumbent)

This race matters. The House controls the purse. It controls compression policy. It controls how property tax relief is structured. It controls whether spending continues to grow or whether relief becomes permanent.

If you care about:

  • Eliminating homestead property taxes

  • Freezing and cutting wasteful spending

  • Ending political branding and restoring measurable results

  • Real constitutional limits on government

Then your vote in this primary is decisive.

From Proposition to Policy

You’ll also see a reminder on the ballot materials to read the 2026 RPT ballot propositions — because platform language means nothing without legislative action.

Voting is step one. Governing is step two.

Print It. Mark It. Bring It.

Don’t walk in guessing.

Download your county’s sample ballot, mark your choices, and bring it with you to vote.

Early voting starts February 17.

Election Day is March 3, 2026.

Texas First. Texas Forever.
