Texas House District 5
On every county ballot in HD-5, you will see:
LTC Dewey Collier (Ret)
Cole Hefner (incumbent)
This race matters. The House controls the purse. It controls compression policy. It controls how property tax relief is structured. It controls whether spending continues to grow or whether relief becomes permanent.
If you care about:
Eliminating homestead property taxes
Freezing and cutting wasteful spending
Ending political branding and restoring measurable results
Real constitutional limits on government
Then your vote in this primary is decisive.
From Proposition to Policy
You’ll also see a reminder on the ballot materials to read the 2026 RPT ballot propositions — because platform language means nothing without legislative action.
Voting is step one. Governing is step two.
Print It. Mark It. Bring It.
Don’t walk in guessing.
